Agency owners have plenty of reasons to feel like they are falling behind.
AI is moving quickly.
Digital marketing keeps changing.
Technology seems to introduce another new tool every week.
The latest agency data shows just how quickly some of those changes are happening.
In 2024, about 15% of agencies reported using some form of AI.
Today, that number is 46%.
That does not mean every agency suddenly needs to overhaul its technology stack.
It does mean AI is quickly becoming part of normal agency operations.
The better question is not whether everyone else is using it.
It is whether there are places inside your agency where technology can make your team more efficient without sacrificing security, service, or relationships.
Marketing budgets are changing too.
The study discussed in this week's IA Fast Forward showed average marketing budgets increasing from roughly $14,000 in 2024 to around $20,600 in 2026.
Agency owners are becoming more comfortable investing in social media, digital advertising, websites, and other ways to reach clients.
But spending more is not automatically the same as marketing better.
The agencies that benefit most will understand where their clients are, what message actually connects with them, and how to measure whether those dollars are producing results.
Trends matter.
Benchmarks matter.
Knowing what other agencies are doing can help you identify opportunities inside your own business.
But you do not need a knee-jerk reaction every time a new statistic comes out.
Pay attention. Learn. Test. Then decide what actually makes sense for your agency.
